Why does it happen?

Frozen shoulder’ is the most common word everyone must have heard once. But it generally seen with the people more than 45 years of age. Other than frozen shoulder, many problems can hurt the shoulder joint.

  • Tendinitis
  • Bursitis
  • Arthritis
  • Rotator cuff injury
  • Muscle strain
  • Ligament sprain
  • Dislocation of shoulder
  • Bone fracture

These are some commonly seen conditions of shoulder joint. Recurrent injuries are also common in athletes. Proper and specific exercise programs and rehabilitations are must in that case. 

How can I Confirm on my own?

Check for following symptoms:

Pain, discomfort, restricted overhead movement of shoulder are common signs of any problem at shoulder.
In many cases pain may travel up to elbow or up to arm. Physiotherapists are trained for ‘Special tests’ to confirm shoulder pain diagnosis. Take their help! 

To confirm the diagnosis physiotherapist will perform certain test and will assess for other symptoms too.

How can I get rid of it by myself?

Ice application twice a day for 15 minutes. Flexibility exercises with proper strengthening of the shoulder muscles is must. Heavy weightlifting must be avoided when in pain. consult physiotherapist for better understanding of your condition and for its treatment.
