Why does it happen?

Elbow pain has many reasons. But commonly it occurs due to overuse injuries. Repeated movements cause stress over tendons and muscle fibers which causes swelling and
pain over a period is called overuse injury. Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow are some of examples of overuse injuries. Other conditions which can make elbow painful are;

  • Arthritis
  • Fracture
  • Ligament sprain

How can I Confirm on my own?

Check for following symptoms:

Any movement at elbow that restricts elbow extension, is a common symptom suggesting elbow problem. Some elbow pain can extend up to forearm. To confirm diagnosis, call your physiotherapist now.

To confirm the diagnosis some radiological tests like X-rays, MRI are needed. Other than this physiotherapist can make diagnosis confirmed by performing some physical tests on the patient.

How can I get rid of it by myself?

To relieve Elbow Pain following tips will help you;

  • Ice application for 15 minutes twice or thrice a day
  • Massage in one (downward, toward wrist) direction on the bulk of the forearm for 10 minutes. Apply oil or cream before massaging
  • Wear elbow band for support
